FUST Lab participated in IFAT Munich 2024, the world's largest environmental exhibition, held in Munich, Germany, from May 13 to 17.
IFAT Munich 2024 is the world's largest exhibition for environmental technology, water treatment, and waste management, with 3,000 companies from 60 countries participating.
FUST Lab participated in this exhibition in the water treatment field with support from KOTRA and the Korea Environmental Industry Association.
FUST Lab applied its focused ultrasound technology to the advanced oxidation process (AOP) in water treatment, demonstrating the efficient degradation of high-toxicity substances such as perfluorinated compounds (PFAS) and the reduction of total organic carbon (TOC). And the efficiency of our technology has been already guaranteed with multiple testings by certified institutions in Korea.
The conventional advanced oxidation process equipment rely on ozone gas, hydrogen peroxide, and UV, yet still fails to degrade high-toxicity substances like PFAS and is prone to secondary pollution.
Through this exhibition, FUST Lab unveiled its Ultrasonic Microbubble Advanced Oxidation Process that utilizes high-density microbubbles generated by focused ultrasound. This attracted significant attention from numerous global companies and institutions. During the exhibition, 59 representatives from 52 companies across 27 countries visited to discuss equipment purchases and collaborations. This included global water treatment companies like Suez and Xylem, as well as global corporations and government entities such as the city of Lyon in France, PepsiCo, Airbus, SBB, and Eramet.
In the second half of 2024, FUST Lab plans to conduct test beds in collaboration with SK Ecoplant, its affiliate Renewus, and the Korea Water Resources Corporation.
